⌚ Get workouts onto your Garmin
One-time setup, about 2 minutes
Garmin Connect can't import workout files directly, so WatchOut delivers through intervals.icu — a free training site with an official Garmin link. Once connected, every workout you send lands on your Garmin as a native structured workout: press start, follow the steps.
1 · Create a free intervals.icu account
intervals.icu — sign up (no card, free tier is plenty).

2 · Link your Garmin
In intervals.icu: Settings → Connections → Garmin — authorize, and enable “Upload planned workouts”. This is the pipe to your watch.

3 · Create an API key
In intervals.icu: Settings → Developer → Create API Key — copy it.

4 · Send your first workout
Open any WatchOut workout link, flip the toggle to Garmin, tap Send to Garmin watch and paste the key when asked. That's the last time — it's remembered by this browser, and every workout after that is one tap.

What to expect
- The session appears on your intervals.icu calendar on the planned date, and syncs to the watch from there (open the Garmin Connect app to hurry a sync along).
- Sending the same session again updates it — retuned workouts replace the old version, never duplicate.
- Your API key stays in your browser and is sent only to intervals.icu — WatchOut.run has no accounts and never sees it. A “forget this key” link on every workout page removes it from the browser.
If something's off
- “rejected that API key” — re-copy it from Settings → Developer; keys can be regenerated there too.
- On the calendar but not on the watch — check Settings → Connections → Garmin shows connected with “Upload planned workouts” on, then sync the watch via the Garmin Connect app.
- Heart-rate targets — intervals.icu expresses HR as % of your threshold HR, so set your HR zones there (or tell your AI coach your LTHR) for HR-target sessions to carry alerts.
Using an AI coach over MCP? It can do all of this for you — the connector at
https://mcp.watchout.run includes the delivery method, and can send each session straight
to your calendar if you choose to trust it with the key. Details for developers: /api.
